This week's Challenge - Vintage (?)
This week's challenge was to creat a card using a Vintage Theme. I haven't done Vintage before, so I'm not really sure I quite nailed it, but I think the card is cute (and rather simple). I inked up a new stamp I had not yet used (Princess Tilda) and paper pieced her dress to give her a dress with flowers. She was colored with copics and I used some stickles on her slip, crown and lace on her dress. I used cats eye inks to ink the edges of all my papers and a CTMH stamp for the designer corners. Prima flowers were also edged with cats eye ink & a brown brad from my collection used in the middle of the flower. I was distracted * a LOT * while working on this card, so not everything is as I wanted it - plus I noticed that my tilda was put on there crooked! It's too late now - next time I'll make my card when I'm not so distracted! Hope you enjoy & be sure to come over to Creative Stamp Friends to join our challenge!

Sketch Challenge
Good Morning!
This week's challenge over at Creative Stamp Friends was a sketch challenge. I couldn't wait to do this sketch - it had so much versatility and was right up my alley! I knew right away I wanted something bright & colorful for summer. This weekend I'd gone to the Great American Scrapbook Convention and came home with this adorable chicken stamp. I just loved this fluffy gal out getting "cooked" in the sun! I colored her in with copics and had to try to make it look like she was lying her towel down in the sand. My cardstock is all from the Citrus Stack by DCWV and my pp is also DCWV and it's actually from the Nanas Kids stack. Prima flowers & star brads in the center (the orange flowers reminded me of bright sunshines). My sentiment is a SU stamp. Hope you'll come visit our blog and join in!

New Blog!
Good Morning! I have not posted in quite a while. Life has been so hectic. Not that it has slowed down much, but I'm excited about the new blog I am designing for. The Just Christmas and Birthday Cards Blog is gone, I'm afraid to say :( BUT - there's a new blog being run by Andrea (from JCBC) and I think you're gonna love it! Be sure to check us out at: http://diekreativenstempelfreunde.blogspot.com/
The first challenge was a color challenge. You need to use the colors brown and pink - such a gorgeous combination! So I pulled out some of my favorite paper from CTMH and a new (to me) Tilda stamp and got to work!
All my papers are CTMH. I colored my image with copics as usual - I love the soft colors. I used Distress Inks and a blender tool to set my background, which was cut with a nesties. The swirl is cut from a Sizzex Die and the flowers are primas with the leaves from a MS punch.
Hope you enjoy this weeks challenge and I look forward to seeing *your* card posted! :)
Have a great one!

Criss Cross Birthday Card
Hello! Happy Sunday! I am sure enjoying the beautiful weather we've been having this weekend! I had a scrapbook friend come over yesterday and we had a blast! I needed to make a card for Just Christmas and Birthday Cards (be sure to check them out - link on the top left of this page) - which needed to be a criss cross card. Since I was at a point to make a Birthday Card, I pulled out an older set of SU stamps that I think is fun & just adorable! I used various cardstock from my stash and the pp was from DCWV Safari stack - it just screamed "swamp" to me with all those leaves! My froggy was colored in with copics and I used SU ink to match my burgandy cardstock. The trim on my envelope is the apron edge puncher from fiskars. Hope you enjoy & let me know what you think!!!

First Birthday Card
I have not posted in a LONG time - I've been busy with my new job & very little free time. Someone I work with recently had a birthday & she loved the card I gave her (it was my previous posted card). She asked me to make a card for her granddaughters first birthday, so that's what I'm posting today. I was really happy with how it turned out. I used CTMH Sweet Pea paper & the image is CTMH as well. The font is cut from Ashlyn's Alphabet and outlined with pink copic glitter pen - the flower stems was cut from cricut using home accents and was also outlined with green copic glitter pen. I used copics to color in the stamped image and though you can't see it, used clear glitter pen on the flower petals of the baby. I also used my pink copic to make the "centers" stand out of the prima flowers. The brads in the middle are little buttons (which I thought perfect for a baby-ish card). Well I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it!

Just a Birthday Card
Happy Monday! Today is a new challenge over at Just Christmas and Birthday Cards - the link is over to the left <---- so be sure to click it & join in!
I used this week's sketch to make this elegant birthday card. I really wanted to do something special so I pulled out my La Creme paper pack from DCWV. The floral paper is flocked so the flowers feel like velvet. I think it really gives it that extra touch!
I colored Tilda with copics using colors to match the papers. I wanted a "champagne" color look to her dress - which I was very happy with the end result. My CS is Bazzil and the sentiment is Inkadinkadoo (from a set). The black satin ribbon is from my stash.
Hope you enjoyed todays card! Be sure & let me know what you think.

Pirate Mailbox
Another mailbox for a family member. More K&Co (last years) Valentine's paper. I used the Paper Dolls cartridge for Cricut to cut all the images. I have some really cute sizzex rub ons for the faces. Ribbons on the side of the lids from my stash, as is the sheer ribbon on the mailbox. Again, I used my SU scallop square for the flag, and the apron edge punch from fiskars. Hope you enjoy!
